taSki Driver — Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information the taSki Driver
mobile application (the “Driver App”) collects from drivers, why we collect
it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies only to the
Driver App. If you are a passenger, corporate user, or vendor, the
general taSki Privacy Policy
applies to you instead.
The Driver App is operated by taSki Technologies PVT LTD
(“taSki”, “we”, “us”), having its registered office at Umiya Business Bay
Tower-1, Kaverappa Layout, Kadubeesanahalli, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560103,
India. By installing or using the Driver App you agree to this policy.
1. Background location notice
the background — that is, while the app is closed, minimised, or your
phone screen is off — for as long as you are signed in and on duty.
This is required so that we can record trip GPS for vendor and corporate
visibility, generate accurate fare and payout calculations, and let
dispatch reach you when a trip is assigned. You can revoke background
location at any time from your device settings, but the App will not be
able to perform its core functions if you do.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Account & identity: mobile number, email address,
full name, profile photo. - Driver verification (KYC): driving licence number and
photo, Aadhaar number and photo or other government-issued identity
document, vehicle registration certificate, vehicle insurance and
permit documents, PAN, address. These are required by Indian
transport regulations and by the corporate clients you serve. - Banking details: account number, IFSC, UPI ID — used
only to remit your trip payouts. - Trip-related uploads: photos of toll receipts,
parking receipts and trip-end odometer where the trip flow asks
for them. - Communications: messages you send to taSki support,
vendor or corporate dispatch through the in-app messaging surface.
2.2 Information collected automatically while you use the App
- Precise location (foreground & background): GPS
coordinates, accuracy, speed, bearing, altitude, timestamp. Sampled
while you are signed in. Used for trip tracking, fare distance,
attendance check-in / check-out and live ETA to passengers. - Activity recognition / motion sensors: the App
reads coarse “still / walking / in-vehicle” signals on your device
(via the operating system’s activity-recognition API) only to save
battery — for example, to stop sampling GPS while you are
stationary. Raw motion data is processed on-device and is not
uploaded. - Push notification token: the Firebase Cloud
Messaging (FCM) token issued by your device, used to deliver trip
assignments and dispatch messages. We do not use it for marketing. - Device & technical data: a stable per-install
device identifier, device model, OS version, App version, language,
battery state, network type and connectivity status. Used for
session management, rate-limiting GPS uploads, and debugging. - App diagnostics: stack traces and breadcrumbs
generated when the App encounters an error, sent to our crash
monitoring provider (see Section 4). Stack traces do not include
your name, KYC documents, or location coordinates.
2.3 What we do not collect
- We do not access your contacts, SMS messages, call logs, browsing
history or photo library other than the photos you explicitly
attach during KYC or trip-end upload. - We do not use any advertising identifier (Google AAID or Apple
IDFA) and we do not run advertising in the App. - We do not collect biometric data.
3. How we use this information
| Purpose | Data classes used |
|---|---|
| Driver onboarding and verification | KYC documents, identity, banking details |
| Assigning, tracking and completing trips; live passenger ETA | Precise location (foreground & background), device id, push token, trip uploads |
| Calculating fares, driver payouts, attendance and reimbursements | Precise location, trip uploads (toll, parking) |
| Reducing battery use while you are stationary | Activity recognition / motion (on-device only) |
| Notifying you of new trip assignments and dispatch updates | FCM push token, device id |
| Detecting and fixing crashes, slow surfaces and abuse | App diagnostics, technical data |
| Compliance with Indian transport, tax and accounting law | KYC, banking, trip ledger |
4. Who we share data with
We share personal data only with the categories of recipients listed
below, and only to the extent necessary for the purpose shown.
- Vendor partners who own the cab you drive: trip GPS
and trip status for visibility, your name and mobile so dispatch can
reach you, payout statements. - Corporate clients whose passengers you serve: live
trip GPS and ETA during their trip, trip start/stop timestamps,
driver display name (no KYC document is shared with corporates). - Passengers assigned to you for a specific trip:
driver display name, vehicle number, masked phone number for
ride-time calls. - Service providers acting on our behalf:
- Amazon Web Services (Mumbai region) — application
hosting and database storage. - Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., USA) — crash
and performance monitoring. Receives stack traces, App version,
device model and a hashed user id. Does not receive KYC or
location coordinates. - Amazon Simple Email Service — transactional
emails (account verification, payout notifications). - DLT-registered SMS aggregator — one-time
passwords for sign-in, using the DLT-approved template. - Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivery of
trip-assignment push notifications. - Razorpay — bank account verification when you
update payout details.
- Amazon Web Services (Mumbai region) — application
- Lawful authorities when required by valid Indian
legal process, or when necessary to investigate fraud, accidents,
or threats to safety.
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for the marketing
purposes of any third party.
5. Where data is stored and how long we keep it
Personal data collected through the Driver App is stored on servers
located in India (AWS Mumbai, ap-south-1). Crash diagnostics are
processed by Sentry which may transfer that limited subset to the United
States; we rely on Sentry’s standard contractual clauses for that
transfer.
- Trip GPS pings: retained for 18 months for
audit, dispute resolution and statutory record-keeping, then
summarised to per-trip totals and the raw stream is purged. - KYC documents: retained for as long as your driver
account is active, plus 7 years thereafter as required by Indian
tax law and the Motor Vehicles Act. - Account profile, payout statements, and transactional
messages: retained for 7 years. - Crash diagnostics in Sentry: 90 days, then
automatically purged.
6. Your rights
You can:
- see your profile and KYC information from inside the Driver App
(Profile → Documents); - correct any incorrect information from the same screen, or by
writing to us; - turn off background location from your device settings (note: the
App’s core trip-tracking features will not work if you do); - ask us to delete your account and associated personal data, subject
to the retention obligations in Section 5 above.
To exercise any of these rights, email
info@taski.in from the email
address registered on your driver account, or write to the postal
address in Section 9. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Children
The Driver App is intended only for drivers aged 18 or older holding a
valid commercial driving licence. We do not knowingly collect data from
anyone under 18.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, when we add
new product features or new service providers. The “Last updated” date
at the top of this page will reflect the most recent change. Material
changes will also be notified inside the App at next sign-in.
