Corporate travel software · India

Corporate travel management software, built for Indian programmes.

Booking, policy, approval and duty of care in one flow — and, unusually, on the same policy engine as the employee commute. One approval chain and one number for total mobility cost.

What the software does

Everything between the trip request and the reconciled invoice.

The capability list is broadly common to this category. It is here because a buyer comparing platforms needs the checklist, not because any of it is unique.

Booking across channels

Flights and hotels in one search, drawing on GDS content, direct airline connections and your own negotiated fares — so a traveller is choosing from the market rather than from one channel of it.

Policy applied at booking

Grade, city tier, cabin class and advance-purchase rules enforced while the traveller chooses. A platform that reports violations afterwards has already let the money go.

Pre-trip approval by rule

Approval triggered by value, destination, class or proximity to departure, and auto-approved inside policy so the control does not become the bottleneck people route around.

Duty of care

Where every traveller is, derived from bookings, with one escalation route for an incident. Bookings made outside the channel are the gap — which is why the mandated channel is a policy question, not a software one.

GST-compliant invoicing

GSTIN captured at the point of booking and invoices raised to the company, because a ticket invoiced to the traveller personally generally cannot be claimed at all.

Spend and leakage reporting

Cost per trip, advance-purchase compliance, exception volume and out-of-channel booking, by cost centre — the four numbers a travel programme is actually managed on.

What to look for in India

Three questions the generic feature list never asks.

These decide whether a platform works on an Indian programme. They are rarely on a comparison grid, and all three cost real money when the answer is wrong.

  • Does it capture your GSTIN at booking?

Input credit depends on the invoice being raised to the company with its GSTIN recorded correctly. Added after the fact, it usually cannot be fixed. Unclaimed credit never appears as a line item — it shows up only as travel costing more than budget, with nothing to point at.

  • Can it see low-cost carriers?

A large share of Indian domestic capacity sells outside the global distribution systems, through direct connections or aggregators. A tool wired only to a GDS cannot show part of the market, so the cheapest reasonable fare is not merely missed — it is invisible.

  • Are hotel caps set by city tier?

A single national ceiling is simultaneously generous in one city and unusable in another, which is how a policy ends up negotiated per booking. Caps need to vary by city tier, and to state whether they include taxes.

  • And one more: who runs the commute?

If the same organisation also runs shift transport, the question is whether travel and ground share a policy engine or sit in two systems. Two systems means two approval chains and a join in a spreadsheet before anyone can state cost per employee.

What is corporate travel management software?

Corporate travel management software is the system a company uses to book and govern business travel. It searches fares and hotel rates, applies the travel policy while the traveller is choosing rather than afterwards, routes requests for approval where a rule requires it, records where travellers are for duty-of-care purposes, and feeds the resulting spend into expense and finance systems.

How is it different from a travel management company?

A travel management company is an agency — it holds the airline and hotel contracts, issues tickets and services changes. The software is what your employees book in. They are separable: you can change booking software without retendering the agency, and change agency without changing software, provided the contracts were written that way. Confusing the two is the commonest way a travel tender goes wrong.

What should an Indian company look for specifically?

Three things that generic feature lists miss. Whether the platform captures your GSTIN at the point of booking, because input credit on a ticket invoiced to the traveller personally is usually lost for good. Whether it sees low-cost carrier inventory, since a large share of Indian domestic capacity sells outside the global distribution systems. And whether hotel caps can be set by city tier rather than one national ceiling, which is simultaneously too high for one city and too low for another.

How much does corporate travel management software cost in India?

Models vary: a transaction fee per booking, a per-traveller subscription, a percentage of spend, or a platform fee with the agency billed separately. taSki publishes its pricing — Essential at ₹85 per employee per month with a ₹35,000 monthly minimum, Growth at ₹120 with a ₹1,50,000 minimum, and Enterprise on custom annual commercials. Most vendors in this category publish nothing, so comparing on price usually means getting quotes.

Can one platform run corporate travel and the employee commute?

That is specifically what taSki does, and it is unusual. The employee transport platforms publish ground-only product lines; the travel and expense platforms publish no commute. Running both on one policy engine means one approval chain, one audit trail and total mobility cost per employee as a single number rather than two exports and a join.

Does taSki do expense management?

Not as a product. taSki governs the booking and captures the data — cost centre, GSTIN, policy outcome, matched invoice — and syncs it into the expense and ERP systems you already run. If you need employee expense claims, reimbursement workflow or corporate card issuance, that is a travel-and-expense platform rather than taSki.
